Warrior

As the war rages
Here we are stranded in cages,
Never to be released
Until this war has ceased.

Calling, crying, wanting out,
As the birds soar slowly round about.
Are we here left for dead?
Isn't there someone to free us instead?

When in the distance,
I hear the sound of coming resistance.
Our troops are here!
Do they bring us our cure?

Metal upon metal,
Crashing, pounding then all is settle.
I see him there riding,
The white horse slowly gliding.

The horn then blows,
The victory chant to the battle's close.
The door swings open,
Leaving us all hoping.

Is it the warrior here,
Or someone to fear?
Then a roar rises from a mighty lion,
It is indeed the warrior of Zion!

He has triumphed,
Victory and freedom won.
To us warriors held captive.
Freed by the one true son.

The warring son,
Has saved my life.
To sing and dance,
And no longer strife.

Now I am a warrior,
For the one true son.
Though life may seem bound,
Peace now urges us to run,
Till the race is done.
To fight the good fight,
Until one day,
We spread our wings in flight.
